Lomailua ja siviilielämää

Viime kerrasta on taas aikaa, mutta sitäkin enemmän sanottavaa on taas. / It's been a while again, but I have even more so to say after this while.

Agility

Viivin kanssa tosiaan kilpailimme alkuvuodesta hieman, jota jatkamme nyt sitten viikon päästä OKK:n kisoissa. Ilmoitin neidin ehdoille radoille lauantaille eli kaksi lähtöä. Päätimme jättää hypärin välistä tällä kertaa, koska siitä jo luva on. Toiveet ovat taas korkealla, mutta hieman treeneissä on alkanut häiritä tuo  esteiden eli hyppyjen korkeus ei oikein aina neitiä miellytä tai sitten ne vain tuntuvat jotenkin oudoilta meidän Viivistä. Pitää muistaa kisoissa ohjata ne mahdollisimman läheltä, koska silloin ne suoritetaan. Lisäksi keinun kanssa pitää vielä hieman treenata, koska sen lonksahdus aiheuttaa ongelmia sitten puomin kanssa. Samantyyppiset esteet ovat vaikeita.

We started competing with Viivi again this year, which process we continue next weekend on OKK's agility competition. I informed our girl on two starts on Saturday. We decided to leave jump track off this time, because we have that luva from there already. Hopes are again high, but in rehearsals I have noticed that we have a little problem with obstacles or jumping heights. I haveo to keep in mind on track to guide her on those points as close as possible, because then she'll jump them. In addition, we need more work with the swing, because its sound causes problems to us still. Swing and dog walk look alike, so not so good thing. The same types of obstacles are difficult.

Lexien kanssa agilitytreenaaminen on sujunut hieman huonommin. Juoksut sotkivat hommia ja toisaalta neidillä on ollut aina mielenkiinto siellä hieman muualla, vaikka tykkääkin hommasta kovasti. Haukkuminen ja esteiden suoritus yhtäaikaa on aina kivaa. Toisaalta, kun neiti tietää tarkkaan, mitä tekee, haukku loppuu. Viime viikolla kauhein tilanne oli, kun neiti päätti tehdä lentokeinun - kaksi kertaa peräkkäin. Kolmattakin yritettiin, mutta onneksi olin laittanut Lexien hihnaan. Agility training with Lexie has gone a little bit worse. Her heat disrupted our training and on the other hand our girl has always been interested on track of other things than doing the track, though she loves to do those obstacles. Barking and running at the same time is always fun. On the other hand, when she knows exactly what she is doing, barking stops. Last week, the worst situation was when our little lady decided to run over a swing - two times in a row. She tried to do it third time, but luckily I had put Lexie in a strap. The result was plowing the field with her muzzle.  She got a wound on her muzzle and upper jaws long teeth sank in lower lip and did two nice notches there. Fortunately, they were not anything cosmetically undesirable, and will heal on their own well after cleaning.


Näyttelyt - Shows

Lexien kanssa olemme lähdössä Vaasaan katsomaan, miten pärjäisimme. Sinne oli ilmoitettu paljon koiria taas - 33 narttua. Vilskettä siis riittää. Tämä vuosi on siitä huono vuosi näyttelyllisesti, että suurin osa niistä on Etelä-Suomessa tai pitkän ajomatkan takana, joten aina välillä se ajaminen mietityttää. Erkkariin emme ole lähdössä. Tiputimme sen pois listaltamme.

We are going to Vaasa International with Lexie to see how we'll do. Again there are lots of dogs reported - 33 females. Lots of hassle. This year is a bad year for shoe wise, because most of them are in southern Finland, or you have to take a long drive, so every now and then driving puts us to wonder about it. On Shelties Special Show we are not going. We decided to drop it off our list.


Muuta elämää - Other things

Kävimme tosiaan hiihtolomalla Kööpenhaminassa pienellä neljän päivän reissulla kaveriporukan kanssa. Lisäksi ennen reissua kävimme mutkan Tallinnassa ja kävimme katsomassa Helsingissä Queen-musikaalin. Reissu oli upea hienon porukan kanssa. Säät olivat melkein kohdillaan sekä siellä ei lunta ollut. Rentouttava reissu! Nähtävyyksiä, kahviloita, ravintoloita ja museoita!

We had a really nice skiing holiday in Copenhagen. We took a four-day trip there with a small group of friends. In addition, before Copenhagen we took a boat trip to Tallinna and went to see Queen musical at Helsinki. The trip was fantastic with that lot. The weather was almost at its best, and there was no snow. Wonderful trip! Sightseeing, cafes, restaurants and museums!

Loman aikana Viivi ja Lexie olivat koiratuttumme Suvi Viitasaaren luona. Teimme pienet vaihtokaupat eli meidän neidit olivat siellä loman ajan ja hänen koiransa Vilma oli meillä sitten vuorostaa nyt edelliset kaksi viikkoa.

During our trip Viivi and Lexie were staying at our dog friend Suvi Viitasaari's house. We made a small trade, during our trip our ladies were there and after our trip her dog Vilma was at our place. Now two weeks are almost up.

Elämä kolmen koiran kanssa on mennyt loistavasti. Tähän kolmen kirsun tuhinaan ja touhuun on niin tottunut jo. Lenkkeillessä ei ole ollut ongelmia - Vilma on unelmakoira tottelemaan ja tekemään niin kuin pitää. Lisäksi Vilma on antanut upeasti vauhtia meidän neideille villikohtauksineen. Jotenkin siis kirpaisee syvällä sydämessä, kun tietää, että lähenee kohta aika, että Vilmastiina, Vimpula, Vippe (rakkaalla monta nimeä) pitää antaa takaisin omaan kotiin.

Life with three dogs have gone brilliantly. I have gotten used to these three noses and hustle. Jogging has not been a problem - Vilma is a dream dog to obey and do as she is told. In addition, Vilma has given lots of action to our own girls with her crazy running. So it hurts a bit deep in the heart, when you know that the time is approaching, when Vilmastiina, Vimpula, Vippe (loved one has many names) must go back to her own home.

Kahden viikon aikana olemme kolunneet lähimaastot useaan otteeseen. Lisäksi olemme tutustelleet toisten shelttien kanssa, kun olemme tehneet yhteislenkkejä maastoomme naapurin Sarin tyttöjen kanssa. Jopa Olga-collie sai kunnon vauhtia Vilmasta, kun neiti juoksutti koko laumaa. Sitä oli upea katsoa. Lisäksi shelttilenkki Letonniemeen viime viikonloppuna oli hieno reissu. Olimme mukana koko porukalla.

For two weeks, we have run around local terrain on several occasions. In addition, we have got to know the other shelties when we have made trips with our neighbor Sari's girls. Even Olga-collie got a good friend of Vilma, when she ran with the whole flock. It was amazing to look at. In addition, local shelties made a trip on ice to Letonniemi last weekend. We were there with the whole group.

Tätä neitiä katsellessa on vain vahvistunut seuraavan koiran väri - kyllä se merle on. Vilma on niin kaunis väritykseltään ja tuo turkki on ihanan pöyhkeä ja runsas. Jos jostain saisi sellaisen kompaktin kokoisen neitokaisen perheeseemme tai sitten Lexien seuraavasta pentueesta voisimme jättää itsellemme sellaisen, olisin todella onnellinen. Tätä pitää alkaa miettiä tarkemmin. Pentukuumeisen ihmisen elämä on vaikeaa...

When I am watching this lady, it has made clearer our next dog's color - yes it is a merle. Vilma has such a beautiful color and her coat is wonderfully rich and full. If I could get a beautiful merle puppy from somewhere, I would be in heaven. We should buy it or wait one of Lexie's litter. This is a thing I must start thinking more... My life isn't easy with these little fever...

Syksyä, kynttilänvaloa ja koirankarvaviltti

Huomasin tässä eräs päivä, että: "HYI HENNA! Et ole päivittänyt blogia pitkään aikaan!" Tekevällä valitettavasti aika on tiukalla ja näin blogi on joutunut kärsimään. Anteeksi rakas, en tee sitä uudelleen.

I noticed the other day, that: "BAD HENNA! You have not updated the blog for a long time!" Unfortunately for people, who mostly do, time is tight, and this blog has suffered of it. I'm sorry dear, I won't do it again.

Syksy on siis ollut hyvin täynnä kaikkea mahdollista. Kun agikisoissa kävimme syyskuussa, jäimme sitten hieman tauolle kaikesta. Opettajan työ ei ole helppoa ja kotihommia on pitänyt tehdä enemmän kuin aikaisemmin. Tästä tulisi kai kiittää VR:ää ja erästä pientä kovalevyä, joka päätti tehdä elämästäni aika hankalan. Onneksi niistäkin on päästy ylitse eli töitä on tehty, että on saatu hommat uudelleen kasaan. Hieman huono alku siis syksylle. Toisaalta myös eräs siviilielämän työ on vienyt aikaa aika paljon tältä muulta kirjoittamiselta. Onneksi sekin on kohta ohitse ja pääsee nauttimaan siitä hedelmästä.

Autumn has been, therefore, very full. After we went to agility competition in September, we took a little break from everything. A teacher's work is not easy and I have done homework more than in the past. Of this I should probably thank VR and my small hard drive, which decided to make my life pretty difficult. Fortunately, that is now the past and all the work has been done, things are getting back together. A little bad start for Autumn? On the other hand, I have been working a one little work at home, which has taken quite a lot of time out of this kind of typing. Fortunately, too, it is soon past and one gets to enjoy the fruit.

Lexie

Lexien kanssa kävimme tosiaan siellä jalostustarkissa ja nyt on kova miehenmetsästys päällä. Josko keväällä/kesällä/loppukesästä saisimme iloisia uutisia tähän taloon? Riippuu neidin juoksuhaluista ja tietysti urosvalinnasta. Hakusessa on soopeliuros, jolla olisi mahdollisimman erinomainen etuosa ja rakenne siellä. Lisäksi muutenkin terveys ja linjasto pitää olla top-luokkaa. Tarkoitushan olisi, että jätämme siitä pentueesta yhden mahdollisesti itsellemme, joten huippukoiraa me rakennamme. Katsotaan onnistuuko eli saako kennel Elentarion ensimmäisen pesueensa aikaa ensi vuonna?

With Lexie we went to that breeding exam in september and now we are hunting a nice male for her. Wondering if in the spring / summer / late summer we could get good news from this house? Depends on the runs and, of course, male choice. We are seeking for a sable male, which has the best front structure there can be. In addition, health and the breeding lanes have to be top-class. Ii is supposed to be, that we leave one puppy of that litter at home, so we are building a top dog. So let's wait and see, if kennel Elentarion will get its first litter next year?

Kävimme Lexien kanssa myös trimmauskurssilla lokakuussa. Opimme paljon uusia asioita, joita emme ole tulleet edes ajatelleeksi. Toisaalta, kiitos Lindan, tiesinkin muutaman erinomaisen hyvän taidon jo, joten  oli hyvä saada varmistus noillekin taidoille. Tuli sitten hankittua eräs erinomainen metallipiikkiharja ilman nuppeja, jolla olen päässyt todella hyviin tuloksiin. Se on suorastaan ihana väline nyt karvanlähdön aikaan.

I took Lexie to a grooming class in October. We learned a lot of new things that we did not even know. On the other hand, thanks to Linda, I knew a few excellent good grooming tips already, so it was good to have a backup for those skills. Then I acquired one of the greatest metal tip brushes and with it I have had really good results. It is a wonderful hair tool now when coat is changing.

  

Lokakuun lopulla kävimme syyslomareissulla Karigasniemessä ihan vain yhden koirakaverin kanssa. Viivi hoiteli nimittäin vieläkin silloin pentuaan Sisua, joten emme saaneet neitiä mukaamme reissulle. Oli vielä turhan aikaista erottaa emo pennustaan. Lexien ei kuitenkaan tarvinnut olla yksin reissullaan, koska anoppilassa neiti pääsi tutustumaan talon uuteen asukkiin Nellaan. Nella olikin aluksi ihmeellinen intoilija, joka koko ajan yritti pentuleikkiä Lexien kanssa. Lexie esitti jonkin aikaa isoa neitiä, että minä en tuollaisten pikkutyttöjen kanssa leiki, mutta loppujen lopuksi, kun molemmat oppivat toistensa rajat eli Lexie on pienempi ja sirompi, leikki onnistui. Kävelimme reissun aikana noin 20 km, kun vaeltelimme läheisellä Kevolla ja Ailigastunturilla. Lexie pääsi nauttimaan siis tunturi-ilmastosta samoin kuin omistajansakin.

We went for an autumn holiday trip to Karigasniemi at the end of October with just one dog. Viivi was still taking care of puppy Sisu, so we went there with Lexie only. It was still too early to part the parent of its cub. Lexie didn't have to be alone there, because mother-in-law had gotten a dog. Nella was initially a wonderful doggie who always tried to play like a puppy with Lexie. Lexie tried to play a big girl for some time, thinking "I will not play with a such little girl", but in the end, when both learned to play together ie Lexie was smaller and lighter, the playing went nicely. We walked in during the trip of about 20 km. We wandered in the nearby Kevo National Park and at Ailigas fell. Lexie got to enjoy the mountains, the climate, therefore, as well as its owner.

Syksyllä aloitimme myös hieronnan Lexielle eli Eevaliisa Takalahti on käynyt hieromassa Lexietä kuukauden välein. Tämä on ollut hyvä, koska Lexie oli hieman lukossa. Toisaalta agilitykin on aina oma rasituksensa, joten senkin takia on hyvä, että neiti saa hoitoa. Hieronnasta onkin siten nautittu kovasti.

In the autumn we started to give massage to Lexie. The massage was given by Eevaliisa Takalahti. Lexie needs a massage, because Lexie has been very tight from behind. On the other hand agility is always on of those burdens, after which it is good that the girl is being treated. Lexie enjoys the massage very much.

Viivi

Karigasniemen reissun jälkeen Maarit eli Viivin kasvattaja soitteli, että Viivi olisi valmis tulemaan kotiin. Oli kuulemma alkanut jo pentusen hoitaminen riittämään. Kävimme hakemassa Viivin kotiin. Kun Viivi pääsi etuovesta sisälle, Lexie ja Viivi aloittivat heti haistelun. Viivi kävi tietysti paikat lävitse, koska meillä oli tullut uusia kalusteita kotiin ja järjestys siten muuttunut. Kierroksen jälkeen neiti tarkasti takapihan alueen ja tutustui sielläkin uusiin asioihin eli kiviin ja marjapensaisiin. Tämän jälkeen Viivi hyppäsi lempinojatuolilleen ja nukkui vuorokauden läpeensä käyden välillä syömässä. Äitinä oleminen oli siis ollut aika raskasta.

After the trip to Karigasniemi Maarit the breeder of Viivi phoned to me that Viivi would be ready to come home. She was reportedly already begun to dislike taking care of Sisu. We went and took Viivi home. When Viivi got inside the front door, Lexie and Viivi immediately started sniffing. Viivi went through our apartment, of course, because we had new furniture at home and thus the order of things had changed. After the tour, our little mommy wanted to check the backyard area and got to know new things there, too, the rocks and berry bushes. After this, Viivi jumped on her favorite armchair and slept a day. She rise only to eat her food. Being a mother, had, therefore, been quite a hard work.

Minä olin nyt onnellinen, että molemmat rakkaani olivat turvallisesti saman katon alla. Seuraavan päivän lenkillähän ilo Viivillä irtosikin eli neiti revitteli menemään kuin vanha tekijä. Toisaalta eleet olivat sellaisia, että kuin Viivi ei olisi koskaan ollut poiskaan. Vauhtia ja vaarallisia tilanteita riitti, kun Lexien kanssa sai juosta ja haukkua sydämensä kyllyydestä. Oli ihana seurata tuota menoa.

I was so happy now that both of my lovely dogs were safely under the same roof. The next day we went for a jog and there you saw the pleasure on Viivi's face when she ran around like a pro. On the other hand gestures were such that Viivi had never been away at all. There were speed ​​and dangerous rite of passages, as she ran with Lexie around the forrest and barked at their heart's content. It was wonderful to follow them both.

Kotiutumisen kunniaksi aloitimme hieronnan Viivillekin. Viivi oli nimittäin niin jumissa synnytyksen ja hoitoajan jälkeen, että en ole koskaan nähnyt koiraa noin jumissa. Neiti oli tosin tasaisesti jumissa kaikkialta eli ontumista tai varomista ei ollut. In honor of discharge from breeder's home, we started to give a massage to Viivi too. Viivi was in fact so stuck because of birth and baby care. However, she was stuck evenly all over, so there were not a single limp or anything of that sort. The worst parts were taken care of and massage therapy should be continued for at least the end of this year, maybe even further.

Koska Viivi jouduttiin keisarileikkaamaan synnytyksessä, käymme ihan varalta tässä ennen joulua eläinlääkärissä katsomassa, että kaikki neidissä on kohdallaan eli mitään ei ole jäänyt huomaamatta. Haluan, että neiti on täydellisesti kunnossa ennen agikilpailuja.

Since Viivi had to be cut in childbirth, in this case we are going to take her before Christmas to the vet to see that everything is in place and we have not unnoticed anything. I want our lady to bee in perfect fit before agility competitions.

Muuta koiranelämää

Muuten arkemme on ollut aika rutinoitua. Tietysti olemme aina silloin tällöin saaneet myös hyvää lenkkiseuraa naapurin Sarista ja hänen koiristaan. Lenkeillä on saaneet molemmat tytöt telmiä kavereiden kanssa, joten sekin on ollut neideille nautintoa.

Otherwise, the daily lives has been very quiet. Of course, every now and then, we have also received a good jog partner of Sari and her dogs. On walks both girls have been running around with their new friends, so it has been a pleasure for my girls.

Olen myös tekemässä Viiville ja Lexielle hieman talvea vasten varusteita, joilla selviämme talvesta lämpimänä. Löysin viimein kotoa nuo matskut ja kaavat koiran lämpömantteliin. Teen sitten sellaiset. Tietystihän voisi mennä kauppaan ja ostaa loimet, mutta ei ihan viitsisi tuohon kangasmäärään katsoen hankkia tuplasti tai triplasti metrihinnaltaan kalliimpia loimia. Joululahjoiksi tosin otetaan vastaan, jos joku haluaa sellaiset hankkia. Teon alla ovat nimittäin Back on Track -tyyppiset loimet. Tarkoitus niillä olisi pitää koira lämpimänä ja kuivana harjoitusten väliajoilla.

I'm also doing some the winter gear for Viivi and Lexie against the coldness of winter. I found those things at last (material and formula) for heating coat for dog. I shall now make those. Of course, I could go and buy those form the shop, but I am not sure if I want to pay those amounts. If someone wants to give those as a christmas presents, then it's ok. They are like Back on Track -type of coats for dogs. They had intended to keep the dog warm and dry before and after workouts.

Syksyisiä patikointeja

Tänä syksynä olemme aktivoituneet toden teolla liikkumiseen. Olemme samoilleet omassa ympäristössämme, käyneet Karhunkierroksella sekä tietysti shelttien kanssa Mourunkijärvellä täällä meidän Kempeleessämme. Syksy on ollut kaunis, vaikka aluksi näytti, että ruoste on pilannut koivut. Onneksi ei näin ollut oikeasti.

This fall, we have become more and more active in hiking. We wander in our own area a lot, gone to walk around the Karhunkierros, and of course with other sheltie owners, we went and hiked to Mourunkijärvi here in Kempele. Fall has been beautiful, though at first it seemed that the rust had ruined the birches. Happily it wasn't so.

Näyttelyt ja agility

Olemme juosseet tyttöjen kanssa agilityssä urakalla nyt syksystä, koska kesä meni hieman suhkuksi kaikkien tassuhommien, omistajan kiputilojen ja tietysti juoksujen takia. Toivottavasti talvipaikka irtoaa, koska olen yrittänyt poissaolojamme korvata talkoilemalla pirusti.

We have runned a lot with the girls in agility practice now on autumn, because our summer was full of different kind of problems - with paws, with owners pains and the runs, of course. Hopefully, we'll get practice place on winter courses. I've tried to cover the summer with lots of heavy duty free work for the dog club.

Viivi tuntuu agilitystä nauttivan sen verran, että hankimme neidille ihan oman kisakirjan. Nyt vain odottelemaan, että pääsisimme siihen joskus laittamaan merkintöjäkin. Pitää ensiksi saada vain se keinu toimimaan. Pelkotila alkaa olemaan voitettu, mutta nyt pitäisi järjestää neidille tehoreenit keinun suhteen.

Viivi seems to enjoy agility so much that the lady got now her very own race book. Now we just wait for the first entries. We must first get a swing to work. Fear of the swing movement will be soon defeated, but it should be organized training with the swing.
Näyttelyissä emme sitten loppuvuodesta lähde käymään, koska molemmat neidit tiputtivat karvansa tässä viime viikkojen aikana. JEE! Kotona olen iloinnut kovasti nurkkiin kasvaneista karvaläjistä. Mietin välillä, montako koiraa meillä olikaan. Onneksi Dyson-rankkuri sieppasi aina ylimääräiset villakoirat pois ajoittain, joten oli helpompi olla. Toinen hyvä apuväline oli ystävämme furminator, joka söi myös oman osansa karvoista.

We haven't gone to the exhibitions like we said, because both ladies dropped their coat off these past few weeks. JEE! At home I'm delighted about increasing amounts of fur in the corners. Just the other day I was wondering the number of dogs we have. Fortunately, the Dyson-dogcatcher kidnapped our additional poodles, so it was easier to be here. Another great tool was our good friend, furminator, who also ate his own share of hair.

Lenkkeilyä toisten shelttien kera

Kävimme tosiaan 11.9. shelttilenkkiläisten kanssa pienellä 12 km lenkuralla täällä meidän Kempeleessämme. Kohteena oli Marjakammin laavu ja siellä tarkoituksena oli paistaa hieman makkaraa nautiskellen mahtavasta syyskelistä. Onneksi näin olikin, sillä keli oli mitä mahtavin ko. päivänä. Itse homman järjesti naapurimme Sari Pietarila Usvapilven kennelistä.

We were on 11th of September with other sheltie owner on a small 12 km hike here in Kempele. Our target was camping place in Marjakammi and there we were going to grill some sausage at the same time enjoying of wonderful autumn weather conditions. Fortunately, it was so, because the weather was great that day. The hike was organized by our neighbor Sari Pietarila from kennel Usvapilvi.

Mukanamme oli noin 25 koiraan omistajineen. Lähdimme liikkeelle Metsärinteeltä ja matka taittui mukavasti seuraillen koirien temmellystä ja ajoittain varoen vastaantulevia ihmisiä, autoja ja moottoripyöriä. Taival oli siis haukkujen täyttämää. Nämä tällaiset lenkit ovat aina niin mukavia. Pitää taas enemmän alkaa käydä shelttilenkeillä sunnuntaisin Haukkiksella. Tyttömme nauttivat sellaisista kerroista, kun paikalla on enemmän koirakavereita.

That day there were about 25 dogs and their owners. We started from Metsärinne and the journey went by comfortable with the dogs as they play and run around. Occasionally we had to watch out for other dogs, people, cars and motorcycles. This kind of hikes are so wonderful things. We should start going to these hikes more often. Our girl really enjoy such walks, when there are more dog friends.

Lenkkeilyä Kuusamon maisemissa

Lähdimme yhteisen kaverimme Teemun kanssa perinteiselle ruskareissulle. Nyt kohteenamme ei ollutkaan Rokua, vaan Kuusamo ja pieni Karhunkierros. Pituutta reitille tulisi se 12 km. Kiersimme sen suuntaan Myllykoski ja Kallioportti. Emme halunneet väsyneinä nousta sitä kauheaa nousua Kallioportille. Kierros oli mahtava ja ilma mitä hienoin taas. Ruska oli Kuusamon alueella aivan uskomattoman kaunis.

We went with our good friend Teemu to our traditional fall colors trip. Now, the target wasn't Rokua, but Kuusamo and the Pieni Karhunkierros. The length of the route was 12 km. We went from Myllykoski to Rock Port and not the other way round. We did not want to get tired and then hike up to Rocky's Gate. The tour was great and the weather was amazing again. Autumn colors were in the Kuusamo area incredibly beautiful.

Otimme koirat mukaan reissulle. Eihän toisia voinut jättää kotiinkaan odottelemaan koko päiväksi. Vaikka neidit joutuivat olemaan remmissä koko matkan, ei se tuntunut haittaavan. Neidit jopa menivät melko rohkeasti kaikkien riippusiltojenkin ylitse + juoksentelu pitkospuillakin onnistui mainiosti.

We took the dogs with us on this trip. After all, others could not wait at home the whole day. While the ladies were forced to walk in leach all the way, it didn't seem to bother them at all. Ladies even went quite bravely over all the suspension bridges + running around duckboards went very well.

  

Muita tapahtumia

Elokuussa kävimme myös ahkerasti mökkeilemässä ystävämme Eeron perheen mökillä Posiolla. Mökkireissut ovat yleensä olleet poikien heiniä, mutta nyt me naiset ja koiratkin pääsimme mukaan. JEE! Olihan vain paikka mahtava. Kävin aluksi paikalla Petrin, Ollin ja Eeron kanssa ja toisella kerralla mukaan tuli Ollin vaimo Saara Rukan ja Kitan kanssa. Kun Saara tuli mukaan, kävimme kiertämässä reissun Riisitunturillakin. Sää vain ei ollut sillä reissulla kohdallaan, vaan ilman täytti ajoittain aina pienen pieni vesitihku. Kauniit maisemat sieltä päältä tosin oli. Pystyit näkemään Rukan ja Kitkajärven kokonaisuudessaan.

In August, we were also busy to camp at our friend Eero's family cottage in Posio. Cabin Trips are usually for boys only, but now we women and the dogs got to come with. JEE! After all, it was just a great place to be. I was there first with only the boys Petri, Olli and Eero, and on the second time we were accompanied Olli's wife, Saara, who came there with Ruka and Kita. When Saara came along, we hiked to Riisitunturi. Weather was not that good like the other hikes - it rained in showers. The scenery from the top though was beautiful. You could see Ruka and the Kitka lake.

Mökki sijaitsee ihan Kitkajärven rannalla, joten järvimaisemaa pääsi ihailemaan oikein olan takaa. Jotenkin mieli lepäsi, kun katseli tyyntä järveä illalla hämärässä. Kaiken kruunasi viimeisellä kerralla täysi kuu, joka heijastui järven pintaan kuunsillaksi. Saaran kanssa kävimme sitten saunasta suoraan kuutamouinnilla. Lähtihän se talviturkki viimein, eihän sitä ollut kuin 5 vuotta melkein kasvattanut.

The cottage is located just beside Kitka Lake, so we got to admire the view by the lake. Somehow, the mind rested, when you were looking at the calm lake in the evening twilight. Best thing was that the last time we were there there was a full moon, which was reflected in the lake surface to real moon bridge. Saara and I, we went directly from sauna to take a twilight swim. My "winter coat" left of there finally - it had grown almost fife years.
