Kävimme tänään tukemassa Mikan ja Bablon kisamatkaa Norjaan eli agiepiksissä OKK:n kentällä Haukkukeitaalla. Mika toimi siellä tuomarina ja teki myös radat. / We spent this evening at OKK's agility track at Haukkukeidas. There were unofficial agility competition to fund Mika Kangas and Bablo to Norway. Mika was the judge and did the tracks for us.
Kävimme Galan ja Monan kanssa myös kokeilemassa möllien rataa ja hauskaahan meillä oli. Teimme radat kaksi kertaa. Palkinnoille emme päässeet, mutta hauskaa meillä oli. Olin innostunut kahdesta asiasta: / I tried the beginners track with Mona and Gala. We did it twice, but we didn't made to top three. It is ok, because we went there to train and I was all excited about two things:
1) Gala pysyi paikallaan niin, että pääsin aloituksessa melkein putken suulle eli esteelle kaksi ottamaan neidon vastaan. / First! Gala sat still and I was able to walk to almost to the obstacle two and start from there.
2) Mona rallatteli radan omalla tavallaan, mutta loppuun asti. / Second! This was Mona's first ever competition, so I was proud that my little girl ran the track with her own way but all through!

Hieman Mona oli hämillään paikasta, koirista ja ihmisistä, mutta tykkäsi hommasta, joten hauskaa oli. Olen onnellinen näistä kahdesta. Taas kerron saman virren, mutta kunhan saan oman kuntoni kohdilleen. Eräs agilitykaverimme olikin sanonut Petrille, että aina, kun katson radalle, Henna on kisaamassa siellä. Montako koiraa teillä oikein on? / Mona was a bit overly excited about the place and all the people and dogs, but I was so happy. Now I tell the same tale all over again - I need to get into a shape. I need to use my legs properly and get to that speed which I had in my old times.
Alla vielä tuloskorttimme. Enää Galan kanssa emme tehneet sitä 90 + virhettä, vaan pääsimme 10 ja 5 virheellä tällä kertaa. Aikakin oli aika hyvä molemmissa. / At the bottom of this post you can find pictures of our track papers. Gala didn't do any magical numbers like last time, but we survived the track with only 5 and 10 - no 90 +. Time was quite good too.
Viime viikolla kävimme pitkästä aikaa agilitykisoissa Petrin ja koiriemme kanssa. Teemu kävi hieromassa Viivin ja Lexien kuntoon viikolla, joten oli hyvä mennä kisaamaan paikat varmoina. Nostin kesän lopulla Viivin 2. luokkaan, joten nyt Petrillä oli helppo aloittaa oma tekeminen puhtaalta pöydältä. He tekivätkin hyvää tulosta viikonloppuna. Mona kävi tiistaina tällä viikolla perusrakennetutkimuksissa - polvet, kyynärät, lonkat ja silmät. Niistä enemmän kohta. Muuten elämä Elentarion kennelissä on ollut varsin leppoisa, arkista ja koiramaista.
Last week, we went to an agility competition in Oulu with Petri and the dogs. Teemu massaged our girls - Viivi and Lexie - so they were up to the challenge. I did the last zero with Viivi, so she could move to the 2nd class, so now Petri had an easy start for making his own zeroes. He did a good job in that this weekend. Mona was checked out on Tuesday this week, the basic structure of the body - knees, elbows, hips and eyes. I'll tell more later. Otherwise, life at the Elentarion kennel has been quite ordinary and full of doggy things.
Agilitykisat - OKK 12. - 13.3.2016
Oulun Koirakerho järjesti maaliskuun kisansa viimeisenä hiihtolomaviikonloppuna. Petri oli ilmoittanut Viivin kolmeen starttiin 2 luokassa, ja minä Lexien kahteen starttiin 1 luokassa. Tuomareina oli Allan Mattsson ja Tomas Berglund. Petrin kanssa osallistuimme Allanin radoille. Lisäksi viikonloppuna kisaamassa oli myös kasvattimme Himppu (Elentarion Luthien Tinuviel). Erika ja Himppu aloittivat urakkansa 1. luokassa.
Petrin kisat olivat loistavat - 2 nollatulosta ja 1 rata pienellä virheellä. Samalla mies sai kalastettua 2 LUVAa sijoittuen hyppyradalla 2. ja perusradalla hän vei Viivin kanssa luokkavoiton. Alla radat ihasteltavaksi.
Oulu Dog Club held an agility competition on the last weekend of our ski holiday. Petri announced Viivi to three starts in 2nd class, and I took two starts with Lexie in the 1st class. The judges were Allan Mattsson and Tomas Berglund. We had the opportunity to anntend only on Allan's tracks. In addition, one of our puppies from A-litter, Himppu (Elentarion Luthien Tinuviel), attented in the competition too. Erika and Himppu began their career through 1st class .
Petri's tracks were superb - 2 zero tracks and one track with a small error. At the same time Petri got two LUVA aka results, what you need before you can compete in 3rd class. On more to go! He was 2nd in jumping course and on the basic course he was 1st. Below you can see the tracks.
Lexien kanssa meillä radat eivät sujuneet niin helposti, mutta saimme erään saavutuksen tehtyä radalla eli keinun suoritettua omatoimisesti. Aluksi kieltäydyimme sinne menemästä, mutta sitten menimme ja teimme sen omin avuin. Tätä lähdemme tehostamaan, että Lexie ottaisi oman tavan suorittaa keinu, koska vauhtia meillä on paljon.
Our competiton with Lexie wasn't that good. But if you have to find something positive, then I could say, that our swing went amazingly. It was her first time to do it on her own. Hopefully we can correct it in the future.

Mona ja terveystarkki 15.3.2016, Eläinsairaala Evidensia
Älkää pelästykö nimeä, koska Animagi vaihtui toiseksi Oulussa. Ella Saarenpää oli pistänyt pystyyn joukkotarkastuksen, ja ilmoittauduimme mukaan. Odotukset olivat korkealla ja jännäriä oli omistajallakin ilmassa, kun kävelin sisään ovesta. Paikalla oli muutama shelttikaverikin, jotka heti kiinnostivat. Maksupäätteellä asioinnin jälkeen aloitimme lomakeurakan. Lisäksi, koska silmätarkastus oli ensimmäisenä, piti meidän saada turrutustipat laitettua silmään. Onneksi Mona on sen verran mukava veijari, että tippojen laitto ei ollut ongelma. Neiti iloisesti tarjosi päätään ja minä tipautin tipat silmiin.
Do not be alarmed of the name, because Animagi changed its name to that one in the beginning of this year. Ella Saarenpää arranged a group audit, so we jumped right in it. Expectations were high and the owner had chills when we walked in the door. There were a few shelties there, who immediately interested our Mona. After the payment transactions, we started to fill those forms. In addition, since the eye examination was first, I had to put eye drops to Mona 3 times before going in for that examination. Fortunately, Mona is so nice critter that putting those drops in was not a problem. Miss cheerfully offered her head to me and I drip drops in her eyes.
Pian olikin meidän vuoromme astua sisään ja tutkittavaksi. Polvet käytiin lävitse ensin. Molemmat olivat hyvässä kunnossa. Ehkä toisessa oli lääkärin mielestä pientä väljyyttä, mutta ei mainitsemisenarvoisesti. Seuraavaksi vuorossa olivat silmät. Mieleeni muistui Arwenin tutkinta, kun lääkärit ihmettelivät yhdessä silmiä. Nyt kuulin ihanat sanat: "Kirkkaat silmät, ei haituvia. Ei ylimääräisiä ripsiä." Soon, it was our turn to step in and be examined. Knees were first. Both were in good condition. Perhaps the second was a bit loose, but not so much that to be mentioned. Next were the eyes. It reminded me of Arwen's examination, when the doctors were checking her eyes, and then one of them said something about oddness in her eyes. Now I heard the wonderful words: "Bright eyes, not fluffs. No extra lashes." Then the doctor gave a sedative to Mona in the butt cheek, so that the dog lady could be exported to x-ray and to hip and elbow check unconscious.
Odotusaulassa ei kestänyt kauaa, kun neiti nukahti unten maille. Lääkäri kävi koppaamassa neidin mukaansa ja vei tutkittavaksi. I didn't have to wait in the lobby long, when our little one fell asleep. Then the doctor came and took our little sleeping beauty for examination. I don't remember, when have I been this nervous last time, while I was waiting for the results and notice that the lady is in the recovery room. Soon the call was made and I was able to have a look at the x-rays and our little lady in recovery room. Hip photos were good and elbows excellent. Kennel Club will give their opinion of them. On taas tullut aika päivittää asioita tänne meidän blogiimme. Elämä on joskus hiljaista ja mitään ei tapahdu - tai tapahtuu, mutta kauhealla vauhdilla. Työkiireiden ja kaiken muun sekamelskan takia aika kuluu siivillä. Kesä on ollut hyvin rauhallista aikaa näyttelyineen ja agilitykilpailuineen. Lisäksi olemme ehtineet hieman nautiskellakin ja ottaa rennosti. Syksykin on hurahtanut ihmetellessä asioita. Kasvattajan näkökulmasta on ollut ihana seurata Monan kasvua, toisaalta oppia uutta edellisen pentueemme tyttösistä. Sheltti on upea koira - sen on huomannut tänä vuonna niin monella tapaa.
It is again time to update things from our world here to our blog. Life is sometimes quiet and nothing will happen - or happens, but with a terrible pace. Due to the pressures of work and everything else the time flies. Summer has been very restful time with some dog shows and agility competitions. In addition, we have been able to enjoy a little bit and take it easy. Autumn has been the time for wondering about things. From breeder's point of view, this time has been wonderful. I have had lots of time to follow Mona's growth, on the other hand to learn new things out of our girls from previous litter. Sheltie is gorgeous and wonderous dog - I have noticed this in so many ways.
Puheenjohtajana Pohjois-Suomen Sheltit ry:ssä
Tänä vuonna olen toiminut puheenjohtaja Pohjois-Suomen Sheltit ry:ssä. Mukanani toiminnassa ovat olleet upeat hallituslaiseni. Heidän kanssaan on ollut ihana tehdä töitä ja saan kiittää heitä paljosta. Tänä vuonna tehokkaimmaksi ajaksi voisi katsoa nimenomaan kesän ja syksyn. Keväällä teimme ns. kurssitoimintaa, ja harjoittelimme yhteistyötä hallituslaisten kanssa. Kesä meni suunnitellessa syksyä ja syksyllä toteutimme paljon. Teimme yhdessä Shetlanninlammaskoirat ry:n kanssa sivuerikoisnäyttelyn Nallikarissa, järjestimme agilityviikonlopun yhdessä kouluttajamme Iina Asunnan kanssa, järjestimme luonnetestin Haukiputaalla sekä vielä suuren suuren match show'n Oulunsalossa Kalakaverin kanssa. Mukana oli ihania ihmisiä, joiden panosta edelleen arvostan niin suuresti. Siten olenkin tässä vuoden aikana kypsytellyt mielessäni ajatusta, että voisin jatkaa ensi vuoden puheenjohtajana, jos yhdistysläiseni näin haluavat. Toimintaa olisi mukava kehittää nyt entisestään. Saada siihen pysyvyyttä ja selkeän rungon.
This year I have served as Chairman of the Northern Finland Shelties Association. With me in action there has been a spectacular board of members. With them I have had the pleasure to work with and I truly like to thank them for that. This year, the most effective period of time has been the summer and the autumn. In the spring, we made the so-called course activities and practiced the new job at hand together. Summer went into designing the autumn and in the autumn we carried out a lot. We worked together with The Finnish Shetland Sheepdog Association and did a side special exhibition at Nallikari, we organized an agility weekend, together with the trainer Iina Asunta, we organized a nature test for dogs in Haukipudas, and yet we did a great great match show in Oulunsalo with Kalakaveri. There were wonderful people, whose input I still appreciate so much. Thus, I have been thinking about it a lot, and I think that I would like to continue as chairman next year, if other members wish so. It would be nice to develop our association further - make the organization stabile and build a clear frame to it.
Mona - Susadan Freya
Mona täytti syyskuussa 1 vuotta. Niin tämä meidän neitokainen kasvaa. Täytyy sanoa, että tytöstä on kasvanut varsinainen kaunotar niin mieleltään kuin ulkonäöltään. Harmillisinta tytössä on koko, mutta se olkoot hyve, kun ajattelemme jalostuksellisia tavoitteitamme.
Mona celebrated her first birthday in September. So this is how fast our young lady grows. I must say that the girl has grown to be an actual beauty queen - in mind as in appearance. One fault which I hate is the size, but I will let it be a virtue, when we think of the breeding goals.
Kesällä kävimme Monan kanssa muutamassa näyttelyssä (Ylivieska, Oulu, Muhos), mutta meitä rankaistiin aina koosta. Se hieman jäi harmittamaan, ja siksi emme käyneetkaan kovin monessa näyttelyssä. Annamme neidin kehittyä - tosin tuskin se tuomareiden ajatus koosta muuttuu edes iän mukana. Seuraavana mielessä jalostuksellisesti tietysti silmä-, lonkka-, polvi- ja kyynärkuvaus. Jos niistä saamme vihreää valoa, alkaa todellinen metsästys poikakaverille.
In the summer we went to few shows with Mona (at Ylivieska, Oulu, Finland and Muhos), but we were always punished for our size. It was a little bit disappointed, and that why we did not do so very many shows. We let our little lady to evolve - although hardly the judges will not change their opinion about the size, even with age. The next obstacle before breeding are of course the eye, hip, knee and elbow x-rays. If we get the green light, we will begin the actual hunt for groom.
Mona aloitti syksyllä myös agilityn alkeet Petrin kanssa. Heillä tuntuu toimivan tuo yhteistyö hyvin ja Mona näyttää nauttivan siitä tekemisestä. Hieman korkeat paikat pelottavat, mutta se on ihan normaalia pienelle pennulle. Kaikkeen tottuu treenin myötä. Mona began the agility with Petri this autumn. They seem to hit it off well and cooperation works well with Mona. Our little girl seems to enjoy it. High places seems to be frightening, but it is quite normal for a small puppy. She will get used to it after time and training.
Viivi - Dash'ing Glamourous Geisha
Viivi nousi kuin nousikin 2. luokkaan kesän lopulla. Petri on yrittänyt pitkään nollaa, mutta aina se on jäänyt pienen virheen taakse (kerran jopa virheettömästä suorituksesta ei saatu nollaa). Petri on treenannut neitiä todella paljon koko kesän ja yhteistyö alkoi lopulta toimia. Harmillisesti Petri loukkasi jalkansa, ja jalka jouduttiin kipsaamaan. Tämä tarkoitti pientä taukoa kisaamisesta. Henna sitten otti ohjat käsiin ja viimeisteli kesken jääneen työnsä eli nosti neidin kakkosiin, että Petri pääsee puhtaalta pöydältä tekemään tulosta. Upeasti neiti liitelikin, vaikka hieman hakemista olikin. Ohjaajalla ei vain vauhti meinannut pysyä päällä.
Viivi rose to 2nd class at the end of the summer. Petri has been trying for a long time to get the last zero, but always there has been a little mistake on the track (once even a flawless performance was not a zero). Petri has been working out a lot with Viivi this summer, and their co-operation has developed a lot during the summer. Unfortunately Petri hurt his leg, and the leg had to be plastered for two weeks. This meant a small break from racing. Henna then took the lead and finished her unfinished work with Viivi and lifted her to 2nd class so that Petri can start from clear table. On track Viivi exquisitely flew, although there were a bit more searching that with Petri. The pilot had a hard time to keep up with the dog.
Lexie - Kråkeslottets Miss Lexus
Lexien kanssa on ollut hieman hankalaa ja taistelua, vaikkakin agilityhommat ovat hiljalleen alkaneet rullata eteenpäin. Neidistä on vaikka mihin, mutta ohjaajasta ei. Ohjaaja tuntee olonsa todella huonokuntoiseksi ja ylipainoiseksi. Haaveena olisi talvikaudella saada pois painoa. Sitten olisimme terveempi tiimi. Nyt tuntuu jotenkin, että molempien jaksaminen hidastaa meidän hommaa. Yritämme keksiä keinoja saada asia kuntoon.
With Lexie we have had a little bit difficulties and struggle, although agility has slowly begun to roll forward. Our little lady has it in her, even though the pilot does not. Pilot feels really unfit and overweight. Our dream would be during the winter season to lose the extra weight. Then we would have a healthier team. Now I feel somehow that our both endurance slows our development. We are trying to come up with a plan how we are able to win this fight.
Näyttelyissä Lexie selvisi kesällä keskinkertaisesti. ERI-linjalle pääsimme takaisin kesän viimeisissä näyttelyissä, mutta jokin Lexiessä on, mikä ei tuomareiden silmää miellytä. Sitä pyrimme nyt hakemaan. Ehkä laihduttaminen antaisi neitiin uutta eloa.
In shows Lexie survived the summer averagely. We got back to EXC-line in the last summer's exhibitions, but there seems to be something in Lexie, which doesn't meet the eye with judges. We now try to find it out, what that may be - weight, movement?
Gala ja Arwen - Elentarion Galadriel ja Arwen Undomiel
Gala ja Arwen ovat koko kesän juosseet mukanamme agilitytreeneissä. Kehitystä on tapahtunut, vaikkakin takapakkiakin on tullut. Saimme molemmille talvitreenipaikankin, joten olemme nyt kehittyneet huomattavasti. Arwen ja Petri ovat loistavia, samoin Hennalla ja Galallakin on alkanut luistaa homma. Tytöt kehittyvät valtavasti koko ajan. Heidän luontaisia vaistojaan moneen asiaan on ihana seurata. Toisaalta molemmilla heistä on todella kylmä pää moneen asiaan eli mikään ei kauheasti pelota kumpaakaan. Galan bravuureita on irtoaminen. Kun Lexie on kiinni aina ohjaajassaan, Gala on ihan päinvastoin. Voin sanoa kentän toiselta laidalta puomin ja neiti juoksee sinne. Aika hienoa?
Gala and Arwen have run throughout the summer with us in agility training. We have made a lot of progress, although there have been few setbacks. We got groups for both in winter training, so we have now evolved considerably. Arwen and Petri are great, as well Henna and Gala have found the same language. Girls develop tremendously all the time. Their natural instincts to many things is wonderful to follow. On the other hand both of them are very cool-headed. There are not so many things they are afraid of. Gala is good at independent work. When Lexie is close or near the pilot, Gala is just the opposite. I can say from the other side of the track "a bridge" and Gala runs and does it. Sounds great, does it?
Arwen osoitti liitotaitoja tuossa aikaisemmin syksyllä. Petri ja Arwen harjoittelivat A-kontaktia. Arwen juoksi A:n muutaman kerran ylitse normaalisti, mutta sitten alkoi neiti hieman kuumentua. Seuraavaksi A juostiin vauhdilla, ponkaistiin korkeimmalta kohdalta ilmaan niin, että liito jatkui n. 2,5 metrissä kauas A:sta. Alas tultiin tietysti vetovoiman mukaisesti, ja säikähdimme Petrin kanssa molemmat, että neiti hajottaa itsensä. Niin ei käynyt, vaan A:lle piti päästä uudelleen. Reikäpääksi ristimme meidän pienen mustan tyttösemme.
Arwen showed off her flying skills in the autumn. Petri and Arwen practiced the A-contact. Arwen did the A over a couple of times normally, but then she started run a bit hot. Next time she speeded up the A, and then at the highest point of the A, she jumped in the air, so that she continued to fly in the air - about in 2.5 meters - away from the A. Then she dropped down from there, and we were both startled with Petri that she must have broken something when she hit the floor. This did not happen, but she went towards A like nothing happened. We christened her "reikäpää" - our little flying black girl.
On taas mennyt hetki viime kirjoittamisesta. Tarkoituksena oli, että joka kuukausi saisin ainakin yhden tarinan kirjoitettua tänne, mutta mönkään meni. Kesäkuu oli kylmä ja hyinen kuukausi, jolloin ei juuri mitään saanut aikaiseksi. Oli muutama epävirallinen agilitykisa, missä Petri kävi taas kokeilemassa. Lisäksi olemme treenanneet taas agilityä Petri Viivin ja minä Lexien kanssa. Pennut ovat kasvaneet nätisti, koko vaihtelee noin 33 cm tienoilla +/- 0,5 cm eli jäävät hieman pieniksi. Painoa on noin 6 kg.
It's been a while since last writing. I had an idea that every month I'd get at least one story written here, but it went sour. June was so cold and terrible month, when almost nothing got done. There were a few unofficial agility competitions, where Petri went to try it out. In addition, we have started to do agility again - Petri with Viivi and I with Lexie. The puppies are growing nicely, ranging in size from about 33 cm with +/- 0,5 cm, which means that they are going to be a bit small shelties. Their weighs range around 6 kg.
Alfa-pentue - Alfa-litter
Saimme viime viikolla kotiimme täydennyksen eli Himppu tuli hoitoon kahdeksi viikoksi omistajan lomamatkan ajaksi. Tarjouduin hoitopaikaksi sillä silmällä, että pääsisin vähän näkemään, millainen tohottaja Himppu oikeasti on. Himpulla on lisäksi juoksut, joten olisi mukava seurata, miten se hoitaa ja toimii. Millainen Himppu sitten on? Neidin haukku on mitä omalaatuisin - kimeä ja kova yhtä aikaa. Silloin, kun Himppu äännähtää, tarkoittaa se todellakin jotain. Onneksi sitä ei satu usein. Erikan varoituksista huolimatta, emme ole vielä saaneet kokea aamuserenadia. Luonteeltaan neiti on hyvin leikkisä ja tekisi sitä koko ajan kavereidensa kanssa eli Galan ja Arwenin kanssa. Ruokakin syödään hyvin, koska ympärillä on neljä nälkäistä suuta, joille maistuisi mielellään Himpunkin ruoka. Yhteiselo toisten kanssa on Himpulla mennyt siis todella hyvin. Neiti on otettu laumaan jäseneksi.
Our dog count went up last week when Himppu came to stay with us because of the owners two week vacation. I offered to be her caretaker, because I wanted to see what kind of sheltie Himppu really is. Himppu also has her runs, so it would be nice to see how she manages herself and operates while on them. What kind of sheltie Himppu is then? Her bark is the most peculiar one - a high-pitched and hard at the same time. When Himppu lets out a cry, she really means something. Fortunately, it does not happen so often. Despite Erikas warnings, we have not had the pleasure to experience it in the mornings. By nature, she is very playful and would do it all the time with her friends Gala and Arwen. She eats well, even though Erika said otherwise. This could be caused by those four hungry mouths around her, which would happily eat her food too. Co-existence with others, therefore, has gone really well. She has been taken in as a member of the herd.
Agility
Hankin Petrille nimipäivälahkasi agilitylisenssin, joten nyt odottelemme ensimmäisiä kisoja, joihin Petri uskaltaisi osallistua. (!!!) Hieman meinaa jännittää, mutta kyllä se siitä. Kävimme OKK:n järjestämissä epävirallisissa agilitykisoissa viime viikolla. Petri halusi treenata kisaamista, joten sinne siis suuntasimme. Otin samalla Arwenin mukaan tutustumaan tähän koiramaailmaan. Ihaninta oli huomata, että Arwen on todella ihmisläheinen ja on heti huomiota osoittavan tyypin kainalossa, jos vain mahdollisuus annetaan. Lisäksi Arwen seurasi hyvin kiinnostuneena agilityä kentän laidalta, tassut aitapalkin päällä. Tuleva agilitytyttö siis hänkin eli se on veressä. Petri kävi kisaamassa niin mölliradan kuin sitten kilpailevien. Möllissä tuli tehtyä pieni aloittelijoiden mokia, mutta muuten ohjaaminen meni ihan hyvin. Kisaavien radalla Petri halusi tehdä nollatuloksen, joten siinä tarvittiin kolme lähtöä, että näin kävi. Onneksi uusintalähdöt olivat sallittuja, joiden paras jäi sitten voimaan. Nollatuloksella Petri ja Viivi kipusivat sitten lopuksi kisan 2. JEE!
I bought Petri an agility license as a name day gift, so now we are waiting the first race, in which Petri would dare to attend. (!!!) He is a bit nervous, but he will do it. We went to OKK's organized informal agility competition last week. Petri wanted to try out competing, so there we headed. I took Arwen with me so she could see this new dog world. Most wonderful thing was that Arwen likes attention a lot and she goes straight to there were she gets it. Furthermore, Arwen followed with great interest every agilitytrack from the side of the field, paws on the fence beam. Future agility girl, therefore, she has it in her blood. Petri went and competed in beginners track and in the competers track. On beginners he did a few little mistakes in guiding, but otherwise the steering went pretty well. From competers track Petri wanted to have a zero result, so it needed three outputs, that this was the case. Fortunately, re-departures were allowed, and the best result was counted in. With that zero result Petri and Viivi climbed to second of the mediums. JEE!

Täytyy nyt kirjoittaa tännekin tästä pienestä epäonnesta, mikä sattui kohdalleni. Onneksi vaiva on nyt leikattu ja entistä ehommaksi sitä kai tästä tulee pienen levon kautta. Mahakivut olivat kovat tässä alkuviikosta ja menin sitten lääkärille tutkittavaksi. Tuloksena sappirakon tulehdus ja iso sappikivi siellä rakossa. Heti leikkaukseen ja rakon poistoon. Nyt tuloksena on tähystysleikkauksen jäljiltä pienet reiät vatsan seudulla, joista navan ja ylävatsan reiät ovat suurimmat. Sappirakossa oli majaillut sellainen halkaisijaltaan 3 cm kokoinen pieni sappikivi. Se, miten se sinne on kasvanut noin isoksi huomaamatta, on mysteeri. Nyt se on kuitenkin sieltä pois ja uusi alku edessä.
Now I have to write here as well of this small misfortune, which happened to me. Fortunately, the discomfort is now cut out, and I can start to heal to be a better. Early this week I got really hard stomach pains and then I went to the doctor for examination. As a result I got an inflammation of the gallbladder, and a large gallstone there in the gallbladder. Immediately I was ordered to surgery, and gallbladder removal. Now I have 3 small and 2 bigger endoscopic holes in the abdominal region. The gallbladder was keeping in a gallstone of which was 3 cm of diameter. The reason or why, how it got there and how it was so big, is a mystery. Now, however, it is not there anymore, and I can have a new beginning.
Syyskuun ensimmäisenä viikonloppuna järjestettiin Piteåssa taas agilityleiri Lindan toimesta. Linda on Lexien kasvattaja, joka järjestää joka vuosi tällaisen tapahtuman. Paikalle saavat tulla yleensä kaikki Lindan kasvatit. Nyt saimme ujutettua mukaan Viivinkin, kun saimme houkuteltua Petrin kokeilemaan agilityä myös. Oli siis tulossa jännä viikonloppu.
Again we were at Piteå on the first weekend of September to attend on the agility camp by Linda. Linda is Lexie's breeder, who organizes each year such an event for her offspring. Everyone who owns Linda's puppies can come. Now we slipped in Viivi too, when I tricked Petri to try out agility. So this weekend was going to be an exciting one.
Ajoimme paikalle perjantai-iltana, koska Linda oli varannut alueelta meille mökin yöpymistä varten. Agilityharjoittelua järjestettiin jo perjantainakin, mutta se oli pennuille. Meidän kurssit alkaisivat lauantaiaamuna aikaisin, joten ajon jälkeen vetäydyimme suoraan nukkumaan. Kävimme tosin ensin tervehtimässä Lindan ja kumppanit.
We drove there on Friday evening. Linda had booked us a cottage for the weekend, so it was easy to come there. Agility training started on Friday, but on friday it was for the puppies. At first though we went to greet Linda and all the others. Our courses would begin on Saturday morning, so we withdrew ourself to bed right after that.
Lauantai - Saturday
Lauantaina aloitimme aamusta klo 9 harjoittelun. Kävimme Petrin kanssa pystyttämässä teltan kenttien viereen aamiaisen jälkeen. Sitten raahasimme paikalle kaikki tavaramme. Onneksi otimme muovimaton mukaan, että sen päällä pystyi olemaan, vaikka maa oli hieman märkä. Viivi ja Lexie olivat ihan innoissaan, kun paikalla oli paljon toisia shelttejä ja kentällä näytti olevan hyvin ihania asioita eli agilityesteitä. On Saturday we started training at 9 am. We ate our breakfast and then we put up our tent next to the fields where we would train. Then we dragged there all our stuff. Fortunately, we took a plastic mat with us, so we were able to lie on top of it, even though the ground was a little wet. Viivi and Lexie were pretty excited, when they noticed that there were a lot of other shelties, and the field there seemed to be a many wonderful things, namely agility obstacles.
Ensimmäiseksi menimme Mia Wikströmin koulutettavaksi. Hän oli tehnyt meille varsin kimurantin ja tekniikkaa vaativan harjoitusradan. Meillä Lexien kanssa kesti hetki huomata taas, mitä piti tehdä, mutta sitten se menikin helpohkosti lävitse. Mia oli jakanut radan kahtia - ensin mentiin 10 estettä ja sen jälkeen toiset kymmenen. Kuten viime vuonnakin, radalla ei ollut kontakteja harjoiteltavana, vaan ainoastaa hypyt ja putket. Tarkoituksena oli harjoitella kääntymisiä ja kaartoja.
First, we went to train under Mia Wikström. She had made us a rather difficult and demanding training course. It needed lots of different techniques. It took a while for me and Lexie to see, what we had to do, but then we went through it quite easily. Mia had divided the track in two - the first we went through the first 10 and then the last 10. Like last year, the track did not have contacts, but only jumps and pipes. The purpose was to practice turns and maneuvers.
Eniten minua jännittikin tässä Petrin ja Viivin meno ja yhteistyö. Onneksi ei tarvinnut pelätä, koska kaksikko tuli loistavasti toimeen. Aluksi Petrin piti tosin hieman mietiskellä, miten ohjaisi Viiviä, mutta sitten se yhteinen sävel löytyi.
I was so excited to see, how Petri and Viivi would flow and co-operate on the track. Fortunately, there was no need to worry, because the duo did everything very nicely together. At first it took a while for Petri to see, how to drive Viivi, but soon they found the a same tune.
Ruokailun jälkeen vaihdoimme puolta ja menimme treenattavaksi Tommy Fredrikssonille. Hän oli tehnyt meille taas nopean ja irtautumista harjoittavan radan. Muutaman yrityskerran jälkeen onnistuimme Lexien kanssa hienosti radalla. Samoin Viivi Petrin kanssa osasi mennä kuin vanhat tekijät radan alusta loppuun. Myös Tommy oli jakanut radan aluksi kahtia: aluksi harjoiteltiin ensimmäiset kymmenen estettä ja sen jälkeen toinen puolisko. Lopuksi teimme sitten koko radan.
After the meal, we changed the side and went to train under Tommy Fredriksson. He had done us a fast track, which needed lots of far away guidance. After a few attempts, we were able to do the track very nicely. Similarly Viivi and Petri were able to do the track from start to finish like old pair. Also, Tommy had divided the track into two parts, first we practiced the first ten obstacle and then the other half. At the end of the day, we did the whole track.
Päivä oli siten todella antoisa. Opimme paljon kiertoja, kaartoja ja tekniikoita koirien ohjaamiseen. Olisi pitänyt ottaa ne ratakartat ylös, mutta eiköhän näistä videoista ja kuvista näe, mitä radalla oli.
The day was really rewarding. We learned a lot of twists, turns, and techniques for controlling the dogs on the track. It would have taken up the track maps, but I think that you can see that from these videos and pictures, what the track was like.
Lauantai-ilta menikin sitten istuessa koko porukalla syömässä. Jokainen oli tuonut itselleen grillattavat ja juotavat. Pitkän pöydän ääreen istuimme ja porisimme kaikesta taivaan ja maan välillä. Illalla pääsi tutustumaan muutenkin paremmin itse porukkaan. Päivän aikana nimittäin huomasimme, että emme olleet ainoita suomalaisia porukassa, vaan Helsingistä oli tullut kiva Wileniuksen pariskunta treenaamaan viikonlopuksi myös. Ilta venyi pitkäksi ja se tulisi verottamaan hieman huomista vointia.
On Saturday evening the whole team seated for a meal. Each had brought something to grill and drink. On a long table we sat and talked about everything between heaven and earth. In the evening we got to know each other better. During the day, in fact, we found out that we were not the only Finnish couple, but there were a very nice couple, Wilenius, from Helsinki to do the training for the weekend as well. We sat there until midnight so it would be tax us on the morning.
Sunnuntai - Sunday
Sunnuntaina edellisen illan istuminen hieman väsytti aamulla, mutta aamiaisen jälkeen päivä lähti käyntiin kuitenkin ihan mukavasti. Nyt aloitimme Tommyllä ja päätimme päivän Mian kanssa. Tommy oli taas tehnyt radan, jossa nopeus oli valttia ja käännöksiin tuli kiinnittää huomiota. Lexien kanssa nautimme tästä radasta. Se oli meille juuri mukava. Neiti irtosi myös mukavasti ja vauhtia riitti aina käännöksissä tarpeeksi. Samoin Petri ja Viivi loistivat radalla hienosti aloittelijoiksi.
On Sunday, the night before taxed us a little on the morning, but after breakfast the day started out quite nicely, however. Now we started the day with Tommy and ended it with Mia. Tommy had once again made us a track where the speed was an asset and you had to pay attention to turns. Lexie and I were enjoying this track. It was just what the doctor ordered for us. Our little miss had the right pace and in the turns she was very quick. Similarly, Petri and Viivi shone on the track for beginners.
Ruokailun jälkeen vuorossa oli Mian rata, joka oli taas täynnä tekniikkaa. Minulla meinasi hermot palaa, kun en saanut itseäni kääntymään oikein kohdissa, mutta hymyillen selvisin siitä. Puhku loppui iltapäivään mennessä ihan täysin. Samoin Petrillä ja Viivillä oli hieman hakemista esteiden ja kääntöjen kanssa. Jos sinulla oli nopea koira, et välttämättä ehtinyt edelle, vaan sinun piti osata pysäyttää tai jarruttaa koiraa. Tulipahan harjoiteltua sitäkin. Yritin iltapäivän päätteksi vielä rataa Viivin kanssa, mutta ajot päälle ja neidin vauhti olivat ihan jotain muuta kuin mitä Lexien kanssa se oli ollut koko viikonlopun. Viivi - meidän pieni ferrari.
After the meal, it was time for Mia's track, which was again packed with techniques. I almost lost my nerves when I could not get myself to turn on right places, but in the end I handled it all with a big smile. I was puffed out after it completely. Similarly, Petri and Viivi had a bit of trouble with obstacles and turn-a-rounds. If you have a fast dog, you may not have time to be ahead, but you had to know, how to stop or slow down your dog. I tried it with Viivi too, but it was like something other than what it was with Lexie the whole weekend - the speed was something else. Viivi - our little Ferrari.
Mökin siivoamisen jälkeen jätimmekin paikalle hyvästit, kiitimme Lindaa kaikesta ja lähdimme kotimatkalle. Taas yksi hyvin onnistunut viikonloppu takana, josta jäi muistoksi tekniikoita muistikirjaan ja valokuvia kameraan videoidenkin kera. Lisäksi paikat tuli turraksi ja kipeiksi.
After cleaning up the cottage we said our goodbyes, thanked Linda for everything and headed back home. Yet another very successful weekend, which gave us lots of techniques in the notebook and photos and videos. In addition, muscles in the body became numb and sore.
Kaikki päättyy aikanaan, niin käy tällekin reissulle. Tänään olisi viimein päivä reissua. Lentomme lähtee klo 19.35 kohti Luleåta. Sitä ennen sovimme Elinin kanssa, että antaisimme Vindin astua Lexien vielä kerran aamulla. Sitten voisimme tehdä jotain eli käydä syömässä ja Elin veisi meidät sitten lentokentälle. All things come to an end, so did this trip too. Today would be the last day of this trip. Our flight leaves from Arlanda at 19.35 to Luleå. Before that, we agree with Elin, to give Vind one more time to step Lexie again in the morning. After that we could do something, or to eat and then Elin would take us to the airport. Better to be there on time rather than too late.
Ennen Elinin tuloa tein tyypilliset aamuhommat, kävin aamiaisella ja syötin Lexien. Lisäksi laitoin huoneen lähtökuntoon eli pakkasin kaikki kamppeeni reppuuni ja siistin paikat. Kun Elin ilmoitti, että he ovat kohta lähdössä tulemaan, lähdin käymään vielä ulkona Lexien kanssa. Heittelimme palloa ja odottelimme sulhoa. Pian Elin ja Vind tulivatkin hotellille, joten menimme taas hotellihuoneeseen kokeilemaan, miten astuminen onnistuisi. Pienen tutustelun jälkeen pariskunta oli taas kiinni ja kunnolla tällä kertaa. Istuimme kunnon tovin lattialle koirien kanssa ja porisimme niitä näitä.
Before Elin came I made the typical morning's things, I went to breakfast and gave food to Lexie. In addition, I put the room in shape, I packed my backpack and cleaned all the mess. When Elin told me that they were soon on their way, I outside with Lexie. I threw a ball and waited our groom with Lexie. Soon Elin and Vind came to the hotel, and we went up to the hotel room to try again. After a little play the couple got caught up, and properly this time. We sat on the floor there for a while with the dogs and talked this and that.
Tämän jälkeen oli hyvästien aika. Kävin vielä huoneen lävitse kerran, että emme jättäisi mitään tärkeää jälkeemme. Sitten suljin oven ja veimme hotellin avaimen vastaanottoon. Sanoimme Lexien kanssa heit väliaikaiselle kodillemme, josta toivottavasti poikisi meille mukavaa uutisoitavaa.
After that it was time for farewells. I went through the room yet again, that we do not leave anything important behind. Then I closed the door and we took the hotel key to the reception. We said bye to our temporary home, which we hope will be the birth place of happy news.
Kävelimme Elinin kanssa ensin hänen asunnolleen, ja sitten otimme auton allemme. Kävimme hakemassa Maxista hampurilaisaterian ja ajoimme lähelle Elinin koirakerhon aluetta. Siellä kävimme vielä lävitse kaiken mahdollisen, mitä vain mieleen tuli koirahommista. Tämän jälkeen Elin nakkasi meidät lentokentälle ja hyvästelimme hänet. Laitoin Lexien taas lentolaukkuun ja kävelin sisälle terminaaliin. Lentomme check-in ei vielä ollut auki, mutta ei minulla ollut mitään ruumaan, joten kävelin Norwegianin tiskille. Siellä avulias nainen checkasi minut sisään Lexien kanssa. Kävelimme portaat ylös turvatarkastukseen ja läpi valaisusta. Nyt vain odottelemaan lentoamme.
We walked with Elin to her apartment, and then we took the car under us. We went to pick up hamburger meals from Max and drove close to Elin's dog club area. There, we went and talked about everything possible, what came to mind about the dogs. After this Elin drove us to the airport and we said goodbye to her. I put Lexie in the bag and walked into the terminal. Our flight's check-in was not yet open, but I did have anything to put in, so just I walked to Norwegian counter. There, a helpful woman checked me in with Lexie. We walked up the stairs to the security check and through the scanner. Now we just wait for our flight.
Kulutin odotusajan lukien kirjaa tai surffaten netissä. Lentokentällä pystyi surffailemaan netissä ilmaiseksi, joten käytin sen hetken hyväkseni. Lexie makasi kopassaan nukkuen lokoisasti. Aukaisin lentoboksin etuosan, että hän voisi katsella samalla aukinaisesta ovesta maailmaa ja niin neiti tekikin. Pian kävelimme laukkuinemme portille 33 ja lentokoneeseen. Kone ei ollut niin täynnä kuin tulomatkalla, joten meidän oli helppo hieman levittäytyä paikassamme. Paikkamme oli sama kuin tulomatkallakin - 31 F. Lentoaikakin oli nopeampi eli 1 tunnissa lensimme Luleåån. Luleåssa Petri odotteli meitä Viivin kanssa lentokentän edustan parkkipaikalla. Muutaman tunnin ajomatkan jälkeen olimme kotona ja olipa ihana päästä kotiin. Ei ole parempaa sänkyä kuin oma sänky.
I spent the waiting time reading a book or surfing in the internet. At the airport you were able to surf the internet for free, so I used it a while. Lexie was lying in the flight bag and sleeping comfortable. I opened the front of the flight bag set, so that she could watch the world, and so did she. Soon we walked to the gate 33 with our bags and to the plane. The plane was not as crowded as on the way here, so it was easy to spread out things on our seat. Our place was the same as when we came - 31 F. The flight was little faster, it took only an hour to flew to Luleå. At Luleå Petri was waiting us with Viivi at the airport parking lot. After a few hours drive, we were at home, and it was amazing to get home. There is no better bed than your own bed.
Matkan jälkeen voinkin nyt sitten sanoa, että suurella todennäköisyydellä odottelemme pentuja syntyväksi viikolla 44 tai 45. / After the trip, I can now say, that we are waiting these puppies to be born on the week 44 or 45.
Olipa mukava herätä sunnuntaihin, kun ei taaskaan ollut kiire minnekään. Tänään olisi välipäivä astutuksestakin, joten pääsisimme tutkimaan paikkoja Lexien kanssa ihan kahdelleen. Aluksi käyn pyöräreissun Gigantissa ja iltapäivällä lähtisimme Lexien kanssa tutustumaan Gamla Uppsala -alueeseen. Päivä oli hassu sinänsä vielä, koska tässä hotellissa oli todella monta koiraa. Hauskin tilanne oli, että meidän oven edustan olivat uroskoirat merkkailleet. Lexie nimittäin haisteli nurkkia, joista ajattelin, että näin oli varmasti käynyt. Loppupäivästä meidän oven edessä oli kova murinataistelukin kahdella koiralla. Urokset ilmeisesti tietävät, jos nartulla on kiima, ja missä se kiimainen narttu on. Valitettavasti avaamme oven vain Vindille.
It was so nice to wake up on Sunday, when you didn't have to hurry anywhere. Today we had a day off from mating, so we could explore places - just Lexie and I. At first, I took a bike trip to Gigantti and in the afternoon we took a trip to Gamla Uppsala. The day was funny in itself, because I noticed that in the hotel, there where many dogs. The funniest thing was that we had our door marked by the male dogs. I thought so, when Lexie was sniffing our corners. In the afternoon in front of our door was a little fight between males (I think). Males appear to know if the bitch is in a heat, and if it is a horny bitch. Unfortunately, we opened the door just for Vind.
Luulin aluksi, että matka Gigantille olisi pitkäkin, mutta reissu oli vain sellainen tunteroisen kokonaisuudessaan. Gigantti sijaitsi Boländernan alueella, jossa on paljon teollisuutta ja isoja kauppakeskuksia. Pyöräily sinne oli hyvin helppoa ja reitti oli melkein suorakin. En edes eksynyt, joten olin onnellinen. Kun pääsin Giganttiin, se oli sisältä ihan samanlainen kuin meilläkin ja tuoksuikin samalle. Ihmeellistä! Sieltä kävin nopeasti nappaamassa uuden laturin, maksoin sen ja ajoin samaa reittiä takaisin.
At first I thought that the trip to Gigantti was long, but the trip was just like a trip around the corner. Gigantti was in area called Boländerna. There were lots of industry and large shopping centers. Cycling there was very easy and the route was almost straight line. I didn't even get lost, so I was happy. When I got in Gigantti, it was just like those in Finland, and it smelled the same. Weird! So, I quickly grabbed up a new charger, bought it and drove the same route back.
Hotellilla söin pienen välipalan reissuni jälkeen, ja sitten lähdimme Lexien kanssa pienelle maakuntareissulle kävellen. Halusimme käydä katsomassa Gamla Uppsalaa. Sinne oli matkaa hotellilta vaivaiset 3 km, joten se kävi mukavasta lenkistä. Samalla pääsin ihailemaan upeaa ruotsalaista lähiöasumista. Täytyy sanoa, että tämän reissun jälkeen haluan asumaan tuollaisiin taloihin, joita täällä on nämä alueet täynnä - ruotsalaiseen puutaloon ihanine puutarhoineen. Talot ovat just sopivan kokoisia, ilman turhia neliöitä. Parasta niissä on isot pihat puutarhoineen. Ne ovat upeita, kerrassaan upeita. Ennemmin sopivankokoinen talo ja iso piha kuin iso talo ja pieni piha.
At the hotel I ate a small snack after my trip to Gigantti, and then we went to a small county trip to Gamla Uppsala with Lexie. Distance from the hotel to the area was about 3 km, so it was a nice evening stroll for us. At the same time I was able to admire the stunning suburb with the Swedish houses. I must say that after this trip, I would like to live in one of those houses over here, which are Swedish wooden houses with their enchanting gardens. The houses are just the right size, without unnecessary squares. The best thing about them are the large yards and gardens. They are stunning, absolutely stunning. I rather pick a house which is the right size and has a big yard, than a big house with a small yard.
Kiersimme alueen ja palasimme takaisin kuntopolkuja pitkin. Alue oli kaunis ja hyvin viihtyisä paikka. Yhteensä lenkillemme tuli matkaa varmaan se 6 tai 7 km, mutta oli sen arvoistakin. Ilma oli upea, mutta tuulinen. Kun palasimme takaisin metsäreittejä, ohitsemme juoksi koko ajan juoksijoita. Kuntopolku oli siis hyvin suosittu. Eräällä niityllä polun varrella oli myös lampaitakin. Lopuksi kuljimme vielä sellaisen sillan yli, joka oli tehty maastoksi moottoritien yli. En edes hoksannut, että olin moottoritien päällä aluksi. Ennen hotellia kuljimme vielä frisbeegolf-radankin poikki. Näimme siis paljon. Ilta meni leppoisasti sitten hotellilla omia eväitä syöden ja telkkaria katsoen.
We walked around the area and came back to hotel along the walking trails. The area was beautiful and very peaceful. Total trip was about 6 or 7 km, but it was worth it. The weather was gorgeous, but windy. When we returned back via the forest trails, joggers ran past us all the time. Fitness trail was thus very popular. On one of the meadows along the trail we found even sheep. Finally, we walked over a bridge which had been decorated as a off-road trail. I did not even figured at first that I was walking a top of motorway. Before the hotel we passed through a disc golf track. So we saw a lot. The evening went quietly at the hotel, eating my own food and looking at tv-shows.
Jotenkin nukkuminen uudessa paikassa on aina vaikeaa - Lexiestäkin. Sama homma jatkui kuin eilenkin. Tosin lauantaina ei hirveästi tarvinnut kiirehtiä, koska kaikkialla oltiin muutenkin viikonloppuajassa. Sovimme eilen iltapäivällä Elinin kanssa, että hän tulisi Vindin kanssa aamusta käymään taas. Vietin siis hitaan aamun täällä hotellilla, söin aamiaisen ja käytin Lexietä ulkona.
Somehow, sleeping in a new place is always difficult - even Lexie thinks so. Same thing happened as yesterday. However, on Saturdays, there is no need to rush, because everyone everywhere were anyway in weekend clock. We agreed with Elin yesterday afternoon that she should bring Vind about 10 o'clock to meet Lexie again. So I spent a slow morning here at the hotel, ate breakfast and I took Lexie outdoors.
Vind ja Elin tulivat kymmenen maissa kylään. Nyt sovimme, että he tulevat hotellihuoneeseeni. Helpompi ja rauhallisempi ympäristö sekä meillä oli paperihommia, jotka piti hoitaa pois alta. Vind oli kuulemma ollut tulomatkalla jo ihan innoissaan ja tajunnut hotellin pihassa, että nyt on tulossa sitä jotain kivaa. Annoimme pienten taas tutustua toisiinsa rauhassa. Pian saimmekin laittaa maton alle ja pariskunta pääsi tekemään sen, mitä heiltä odotettiin. Hieman meni enemmän aikaan nyt tutusteluun, mutta muuten onnistui taas astuminen oikein mainiosti ja nalkissa oltiin pitkään. Ehdimme Elinin kanssa siinä puhua ummet ja lammet asioita.
Vind and Elin came to the hotel at ten. Now, we agreed that they will come to hotel room. It would be easier and the room is more peaceful environment, and we had some paperwork that had to be taken care of. Elin told that Vind had been quite excited on his way here and after figuring out the place was our hotel, and he knew he would have nice time again. We gave them a while to get to know each other in again. Soon we got to put a carpet under them and let the couple do what was expected of them. A little more time went by before real action, but otherwise managed to do it nicely, and we were caught each other for a long time. We had time to talk about everything with Elin.
Astutuksen jälkeen lähdimme Elinin kanssa taas valloittamaan Uppsalan keskustaa. Nyt pääsisimme toivottavasti kirkkoonkin. Taivaalla oli tosin pelottavia pilviä, joista pelkäsimme niiden satavan, mutta emme välittäneet. Pyörät vain taas alle ja menoksi. Ensimmäisenä halusimme jotain syötävää, koska tuo astuttaminen on aina niin kovaa hommaa. Haimme Subwaystä leivät ja menimme syömään ne kanavan rantaan. Istuessamme reunalla, saimme pian kavereita veteen - sorsia. Siinä ne innokkaina odottelivat, että nakkelisimme heille murusia, ja kyllä, niin me teimme.
After our thing, Elin took me to conquer the center of Uppsala again. Now we could get in the church. The sky had some scary clouds flying, and we feared that it would rain, but we did not care about it yet. We took our bikes and went to the city. First we wanted something to eat, because that breeding is always so hard work. We took sandwiches from Subway and went to eat them by the channel. As we sat on the edge, we soon got some friends into the water - ducks. There they eagerly waited for the crumbs which we would throw to them, and yes, we did.
Kiersimme nyt yliopistoalueen toiselta puolelta hautausmaalle ja sieltä Humanistisen tiedekunnan ja Englantilaisen puiston kautta Linneanumin puutarhaan ja trooppiseen puutarhaan. Puutarhoilla oli erikoiset messut ja markkinat, joita olikin sitten kiva seurata. Valitettavasti vesisade pilasi sen ilon, mutta ehdimmepä ihailla hetken kaikkea kaunista. Ensin istuskelimme sateensuojassa, mutta sateen yltyessä päätimme lähteä jonnekin suojaan. Täytyy sanoa, että ruotsalaiset todellakin osaavat laittaa puutarhansa, ja jopa hautausmaat ovat uskomattoman hienoja pienine orapihlaja-aitoineen.
Now we walked around different side of the university area to the cemetery and from there to the Faculty of Humanities and through English Park to the park Linneanum in to its the gardens and tropical gardens. There were a special fair and market going on, which was nice to follow. Unfortunately, the rain ruined the joy, but we got some time to admire all those beautiful things. First, we sat a while in the rain shelter, but the rain just got stronger. Then we decided to go somewhere to take shelter better. I must say that the Swedes really know how to keep up their gardens, and even cemeteries are incredibly beautiful with those small hawthorn fences.
Puutarhoilta juoksimme vauhdilla opiskelijoiden suosimaan kahvioon - Hovkonditori Ofvandals. Latten ja suklaakuppikakun voimilla veri muuttui takaisin lämpimäksi. Kahvio oli ihanan intiimi ja mukavasti vanhalla tavalla laitettu. Lisäksi siinä samalla seurailimme paikallisten opiskelijoiden aloituskepposia. Esimerkiksi eräässä pöydässä istui joukko kilttipukuisia poikia.
From the gardens we almost ran to a cafe which was in favor of the students in the university - Hovkonditori Ofvandals. Latte and chocolate cup cake turned back the heat in my body. Cafeteria was a wonderfully decorated in old style to be very intimate and comfortably. In addition, we got to see some of the students doing their little pranks. For example, in one of the tables sat boys in kilt uniform.
Kun tulimme kahviosta ulos, vesisade oli hieman vähentynyt. Päätimme kävellä seuraavaksi sinne isoon kirkkoon eli katedraaliin. Eilen hautajaiset sotkivat homman, joten nyt voisimme ihan hyvin päästä katsomaan sitä sisältäkin. Päästyämme sinne, meille ilmoitettiin, että häät alkaisivat siellä vartin päästä. Ehdimme pikaisesti käydä katedraalin lävitse. Upea paikka! Siellä on paljon aatelisten hautapaikkoja ja ritarienkin hautoja. Upeita arkkuja marmorista kaikilla. Ihana paikka! Kirjoitin vieraskirjaan terveiset ja sytytin kynttilän tuomaan onnea Vindin ja Lexien pentusuunnitelmille ja tuin kirkkoa 5 kruunun edestä.
When we came out of the coffee shop, rain was slightly decreased. We decided to walk next to the big cathedral. Yesterday 's funeral disrupted the job, so now we had high hopes to get to see it inside. When we got there, we were informed that there would be weddings in fifteen minutes. We had time to go quickly through the cathedral. What an amazing
place! There were kings, nobles and knights burial tombs. Great coffins and all of them of marble. A wonderful place! I wrote few words to a guestbook and lit a candle for luck for Vind and Lexie + puppy plans and supported the church with 5 SEK.
Kirkolta suuntasimme sitten pyörillemme ja ajoimme takaisin hotellille. Kävin vielä mutkan Icassa hakemassa jotain iltahyvää. Valitettavasti hajotin illalla sitten läppärin laturinkin ja en saanut konetta ladattua. Selvitin illalla, mistä saisin uuden ja löysinkin paikan - Gigantista! Siitä enemmän sitten huomenna...
Then we took our bikes and drove back to the hotel. I went around to Ica to get something to eat for the evening. Unfortunately, the power plug for my computer broke in the evening, and then my laptop did not get charged. I had to found out in the evening, where I could get a new one and I found a place - Gigantti! More about that I'll tell tomorrow...
Päivän aikana oli Pohjois-Suomen Sheltit ry:n järjestämän luonnetestin ilmoittautuminen. Ilmoittautumiset otti minun sijastani Petri vastaan. Luonnetesti oli tullut helposti täyteen ja muutama jäi varasijallekin, joten oikein onnistunutta toimintaa. Onneksi homma hoitui hyvin näin, vaikka tulikin äkkilähtö tänne.
During the day, the character test which Northern Finland Shelties Association is organizing had the registration time. Petri took all the registrations instead. All the places in test filled easily and some of the willing people had to put on spare places. Fortunately, everything went so well, even though I had to come here in such a hurry.
Aamu alkoi sitten aikaisin. Jotenkin uusi paikka, uudet äänet ja muu herättivät meidät aikaisin aamusta. Lexie oli levoton, joten aloitimme aamun aikaisin. Onneksi aamiaisen tarjoilu aloitettiin jo kello 6.30, joten ehdin käydä koiran kanssa mutkan ja sitten säntäsin aamiaiselle. Syötin Lexien tämän jälkeen ja kävimme taas ulkona mutkan. Maha täynnä oli hyvä ottaa pienet päiväunet.
I started early everything this morning. Somehow a new place, new sounds, and other things woke us early in the morning. Lexie was really restless, so we started the day very early. Fortunately, the breakfast was served at 6:30, so I had time to go out with Lexie and then rush to breakfast. I gave food to Lexie too and then we went outside again. After with stomach full it did good to take a little nap.
Petri herätti minut soitollaan yhdeksän maissa ja kertoi progesteronitestin tulokset. LH-piikki oli ollut eilen eli tulos oli 2,5 eli tänään varmaan viiden tai kuuden maissa. Oli siis hyvä aika aloittaa hommat, vaikka oikea aika olisi varmasti vasta huomenna. Ilmoitin tuloksen Elinille ja hän sanoi, että testataan tänään. Sama antaa näiden puuhata niin paljon yhdessä kuin mahdollista.
Petri woke me up with a phone call at nine and told me the results of the progesteron test. LH peak was yesterday and the test showed 2,5, ie. today the count was probably five or six. Yhdentoista maissa Elin tuli tutustuttamaan nämä kaksi rakastavaista toisiinsa. Täytyy sanoa, että Vind näyttää kuvissa hyvältä, mutta aivan uskomattoman hyvälle luonnossa. Upea merleuros! Ihastuin vain entistä enemmän tähän hienoon poikaan. Vindillä on mahtava luonne ja hän käyttäytyy nätisti tyttöjä kohtaan. Kun Vind näki Lexien ja Lexie Vindin, se oli rakkautta ensisilmäyksellä. Kävelimme pienen matkan puistoon. Kävelyn aikana Vind kävi lähentelemässä Lexietä, mutta aina tuli leikkihammasta kohti häntä kuin Lexietä ei kiinnostaisi lainkaan. Pysähdyimme rauhalliseen kohtaan ja pian parimme olikin hommissa ja nalkissa Elinin avustuksella. Lexie meinasi aluksi hieman huutaa, mutta lopetti sitten sen melko nopeasti ja nautti ilmeisesti hommasta. Homman jälkeen vein Lexien hotellihuoneeseen rauhoittumaan. Sama antaa rauhan laskeutua. Huomenna teemme saman uudelleen, koska aikaa on. Ei kannata kiireellä pilata.
About eleven o'clock Elin came to introduce these two lovers to each other. I must say that even thought Vind looks good in the pictures, he looks unbelievably good in nature. Great blue merle male! I fell in love in him even more. Vind has a wonderful temperament and he is behaving nicely with girls. When Vind saw Lexie and Lexie saw Vind, it was love at first sight. We walked a little bit in to the park. During walking Vind was sniffing Lexie, but always Lexie gave him those playful tooth, like she was not interested at all. We stopped at a quiet point, and soon our couple was on each other and stuck with Elin's little assistance. Lexie was screaming a little at first, but then she stopped it pretty quickly and obviously enjoyed the action. After the thing I took Lexie back to the hotel room. It was good to give her little time and space. Tomorrow we would do the same again, because we have all the time in the world. Let's not hurry this.
Lainasin hotellilta tämän jälkeen pyörän ja lähdin Elinin kanssa kaupungille. Matka ei ollut pitkä n. 2 km. Hotelli, jossa olemme on tosiaan hieman kaupungin ulkopuolella, mutta ei liikaa. Juuri sopivasti. Pyöriä täällä ei ole niin paljon kuin Kööpenhaminassa, mutta niiden määrä kasvoi huomattavasti keskustaa lähestyessämme. Itse keskuskanava eli Fyrisan loi mukavan tunnelman keskustaan. Vanha kaupunki ja vanhoja rakennuksia - sydämeni valtasi ihastus.
After the action I borrowed a bike from the hotel and drove to the city center with Elin. Trip was not long - about 2 km. The hotel, where we stayed, was actually just outside the city, but not too much. Just a bit away. There are not so many bikers here like in Copenhagen, but their number increased significantly as we approach the city center. The central channel Fyrisan created a comfortable atmosphere in the city center. The old town and the old buildings - my heart fell in love with this place.
Koska päivä oli jo melko pitkällä, päätimme aluksi etsiä ruokapaikan. Päädyimmekin sitten lounaalle Amazing Thai -ravintolaan. Syönnin ohessa puhuimme paljon shelteistä, kasvattamisesta ja sain kuulla Eliniltä hänen kasvattamistaan koirista, niiden suvuista, taustoista. Täytyy sanoa, että tietoa on tällä tytöllä paljon. Hän on todellakin opiskellut rodun, ja tietää siitä todella paljon erilaisia asioita. Olen todella kiitollinen siitä, että pystyin tapaamaan hänet.
It was past midday, so we decided to began to look for place to eat. We ended up for lunch at Amazing Thai restaurant. When we ate we talked about shelties, breeding and I got to hear a lot of new things about dogs which she had bread, of their familytrees and their backgrounds. I have to say that the information this girl has is a lot. She has really studied the breed, and knows a lot of different things about it. I am very grateful of the change to meet her.
Syönnin jälkeen lähdimme kuluttamaan saamamme kalorit. Yliopisto sijaitsee pienen kukkulan päällä, jonne sitten kapusimme. Kävelimme ensin Katedraalille, mutta valitettavasti siellä oli hautajaiset, joten emme voineet jäädä sinne pitkäksi aikaa. Katedraalilta kävelimme päärakennuksen kautta kirjastolle ja linnalle. Linnalta kävelimme alas Joutsenlammelle ja keskustaan. Kävin ostamassa muutaman postikortin turisti-infosta sekä joitakin pieniä tuliaisia, mitä mahduttaisin mukaani pieneen reppuun. Kaupunkikierros oli ihana ja loppumatkasta näinkin niitä perinteisiä ihania ruotsalaisia puutaloja, joten oli siis hyvin onnistunut päivä.
After eating we went to we to consume all those gained calories. The University is located on a small hill, where we then climbed. We walked first to the Cathedral, but unfortunately there was a funeral going, so we could not stay there for long time. From the cathedral we walked to the universitys main building and after that to the library and to the castle. From the castle we walked down to the Swan Lake and to the city center. I went and bought few postcards and stamps from the tourist information center, as well as some small souvenirs, what I could fit with me in my small backpack. City tour was wonderful and on our way back I got to see those wonderful swedish traditional wooden houses, so the day was, therefore, a very successful day.
Hotellille päästyäni lähdin sitten pienelle lenkille Lexien kanssa. Nakkelin neidille tulomatkalla tietysti palloakin, josta neiti innostui kuin olisi ollut kotipellolla. Läähätyksen saattelemana palasimme huoneeseemme. Illalla kävin testaamassa vielä hotellin ravintolan. Ravintolasta otin matkaani pienen palasen lohta Lexielle iltapalaan. Tämän päivän päälle neiti oli kyllä sen ansainnut. Oikein onnistunut päivä! Näitä lisää, kiitos ja hyvää yötä.
When I got back to the hotel I went to a small jog with Lexie. I trew a ball to her on our way back, of which she was as excited like she was at the home field. All steam was put out after we returned to our hotel room. In the evening I tested the restaurant at the hotel. From there I took a small piece of fish to Lexie. Because today was so nice I thought that my little lady had certainly deserved it. A very successful day! More days like these, thank you and good night.
